In 2005, Sankalp launched its foundation which provides Skill development training. The objective is to train the unprivileged girls and women who are economically disadvantaged, provide them employability skills coupled with access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. In India, many of the girls and women who do not get their education because of financial problems, some are engaged in labor work, some of their parents are not allowed to get their education because of their conservative thinking. Some women become widows at an early age and have children too.
So keeping these things in mind Sankalp came forward to help them. Sankalp provides training to the unskilled women and job opportunities so that they become independent and give their contribution to the economy.
In 2020, India has the largest population 138 crores .Of the total 40.2 crores, 27.5 crores are males and 12.7 million females who are unemployed and have no skills. Since 2010 we have been engaged in providing training skills to these people. However, some girls are primary or secondary educated but have no skills. The earnings of students completing primary or even secondary schooling are extremely low. According to their education and experience we enhance them in their field to grow and learn skills which are required to get the job. To Provide Scholarships from other institutes/colleges to the poor, girls, women, needy, backward class, meticulous etc.
Sankalp provides training sessions in every short term period. Our Campaign runs around urban slums and rural areas. We focus on changing behaviours and practices at the grassroots level and influencing public policy at a systemic level – thereby creating an ecosystem.Sankalp works with project partners at the grassroots level to create sustainable change for girls and women.
Many women are interested in establishing their own business in cooking, fashion designing, beauty and many more. Sankalp provides mentoring support to set up micro-enterprises. This little helps initiate them to become independent. Up until now, we have made a positive impact on more than 60,000 women.
Sankalp has taken several initiatives for the betterment of women. Sankalp foundation has distributed more than 1000 sewing machines to the poor and needy women of the urban slums and rural areas.
